What’s Blooming in the Flower Garden This Spring

Published by Andrew clark on 1st Sep 2025

The first day of spring is here, and wow — what a season it’s shaping up to be! Everywhere you look the garden is waking up, bursting into colour, and it’s impossible not to get caught up in the excitement.

Magnolias — The Showstoppers of September

September belongs to the magnolias. Their bold, beautiful blooms are stealing the spotlight right now. If you haven’t stopped to admire one yet, make it a priority — they are simply breathtaking this season.

Walk through Harmony at the moment and you’ll be hit with the rich perfume of boronia — it’s unforgettable! Add to that the bright cheer of our first deliveries of petunia and marigolds for planting in frost free areas and you’ve got spring in full swing.

A Floral Favourite — Chamelaucium ‘Dee’s Delight’

This one is a personal favourite. Long-lasting, edible, and stunning in floral arrangements and can be grown in sandy soils, Dee’s Delight is the kind of plant that makes people stop and say “what’s that?” Bring some home and you’ll see why we love it.

Azaleas are bursting into the most glorious colour right now, lighting up shady spots in the garden. And if you love the classics, our new season lavenders have arrived — hardy, fragrant, and timeless.

Last Chance Treasures

Don’t miss out — it’s the final call for hellebores and bare-root roses. Once they’re gone, that’s it until next winter. Grab them now and get them settled in while the soil is warming.

Something Truly Special

We’re so proud to offer exclusive Tasmanian-grown peonies this season — a real highlight that you won’t find just anywhere. And for something uniquely elegant, the Serruria Blushing Bride is here, with its soft blush tones that are perfect in the garden or cut for a vase.

So whether you’re planting for colour, picking something special for the vase, or just soaking up the joy of spring, there’s never been a better time to visit. The nursery is alive with scent, blooms, and fresh arrivals — and I’d love to see you here to share in the season.

Happy Gardening!
