Description
The Volunteer Camellia is an evergreen camellia growing up to 2m high and 1.5m wide. The flower is a deep rich pink with white edges and deepening to a darker pink as the flower ages. They flower from April to September, providing consistent colour in your garden over the cooler months when most plants are resting
This early flowering peony form flowers with white markings to the petal edge. It is so spectacular you will want to plant one in your garden. Originally released in NZ for their 'Year of the Volunteer' this release was a chance seedling which volunteered itself and seemed appropriate to name for the International Year of Volunteering 2001
Camellia Volunteer makes a perfect specimen plant and will tolerate full sun to partial shade, it prefers a well drained organically enrich acidic soil. if growing camellias in pots be sure to use the correct Debco brand Camellia and Azalea acidic potting mix for best results
