This wild species kangaroo paw is the most reliable and long lived of this group, and has tall spikes of green flowers in spring and summer. It is a great bird attracting garden plant, and is good for cut flowers. The leathery, dark green leaves are very tough and tend to hold up better against ink spot than all other kangaroo paws. Tall kangaroo paws are great easy care landscaping plants. Removing the dead flower stems and their associated foliage after flowering plus a handful of any good fertiliser is about all the care they need. It is very tolerant of a wide range of soil types including clay soils. It is also tolerant of humidity and quite damp positions as well.
