Description
A dwarf form of the popular Japanese blood plum, producing medium to large fruit with dark red skin and rich, deep crimson flesh. Satsuma is renowned for its exceptionally sweet, juicy flavour and striking red flesh, making it one of the finest plums for fresh eating and preserving.
Pollination: Partially self-fertile. For heavier crops, plant with Santa Rosa, Mariposa or another Japanese plum flowering at the same time.
Harvest: February
Best Uses: Fresh eating, jams, desserts, baking and preserving.
Position: Full sun in well-drained soil.
