Description
A popular and reliable apple producing medium-sized rich green fruit with crisp, firm greenish-white flesh. Exceptionally juicy and renowned for its excellent keeping qualities, Granny Smith develops a distinctively tangy flavour that becomes noticeably sweeter if left to fully mature on the tree.
Pollination: Requires a compatible apple variety nearby for reliable fruit set. Suitable pollinators include Pinkabelle®, Red Delicious, Gala, Cox's Orange Pippin and Fuji.
Harvest: May–June
Best Uses: Fresh eating, cooking, baking, drying and cider making
