Description

A highly regarded cherry variety producing large, dark red fruit with firm flesh, outstanding sweetness and excellent flavour. Bred in Canada from a cross between Stella and Van, Lapins is renowned for its heavy crops, crack-resistant fruit and reliable performance in home orchards

Pollination: Self-fertile.

Harvest: January

Best Uses: Fresh eating, desserts, preserves, baking and freezing.

Position: Full sun in well-drained soil.

Why We Love It: Lapins is one of the easiest and most rewarding cherries to grow at home. The large, sweet fruit ripens after Stella, extending the cherry season and providing generous harvests year after year. Its self-fertile nature means only one tree is needed to produce fruit, while Tasmania's cool climate helps develop exceptional flavour, colour and sweetness. A reliable performer for home orchards and backyard growers alike.
