Description
A dwarf form of the classic European heritage plum, producing small to medium, round fruit with smooth greenish-yellow skin and translucent amber-green flesh. Widely regarded as one of the finest dessert plums in the world, Green Gage is celebrated for its intensely sweet, rich, honey-like flavour and exceptional eating quality.
Pollination: Not self-fertile and can be difficult to pollinate. For reliable fruit set, plant with Prune d'Agen, Coe's Golden Drop, or another compatible European plum flowering at the same time. Green Gage is one of the more challenging plum varieties for pollination
Harvest: February–March
Best Uses: Fresh eating, desserts, jams, bottling and preserving.
Position: Full sun in well-drained soil.
